About Whitney Baxter
Why I Do What I Do
My journey to naturopathic medicine began after working as an exercise physiologist in cardiac rehabilitation. I witnessed the value of a holistic approach to health care and understood that each individual’s physical, mental, and emotional health are interconnected. As a naturopathic physician, I understand that health is a very personal issue. My goal is to spend the time getting to know you and your presenting symptoms so we can achieve your ideal state of health.
Education
I received a BSc in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo. After 5 years of working in cardiac rehabilitation, I completed the naturopathic medical program at Boucher Institute in New Westminster, BC.
I am also certified as an exercise physiologist with the American College of Sports Medicine. This allows me to safely prescribe exercise for wellness and chronic disease management (including but not limited to cardiovascular health, cancer recovery and injury recovery).
A little about me: I’m an avid runner, rock climber and believe laughter is the best medicine! I live with my partner, cat and dog in Victoria, BC.
