About Vanessa Youssef
I am a fully licensed Naturopathic Doctor and Registered Nurse. As a Naturopathic Doctor, I have helped patients understand their conditions and their bodies so that their healing process becomes one of empowerment and a journey of learning! I utilized a variety of methods to achieve long-term health, including nutritional and lifestyle counseling, botanical medicine, acupuncture, homeopathy, mind-body medicine, and Reiki. I have treated a wide range of concerns, from high cholesterol and high blood pressure to prostate enlargement and menstrual irregularities to anxiety and depression. I have a special interest in pain and stress management, women's reproductive health, digestive health, and mental health and well-being.
During my clinical residency at CCNM, I taught students within the college clinical skills and naturopathic modalities. In addition to my role as a TA, I was also a Supervising ND at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Teaching Clinic where I advised and supported interns in the treatment of a wide range of conditions. In addition, I worked as a Supervising ND at Anishnawbe CHC, one of CCNM's satellite clinics that treats the aboriginal population within Toronto, as well as Sherbourne Community Health Centre, treating individuals with HIV and AIDS.
Most recently I have expanded my healthcare skills and career horizons by pursuing a degree in nursing at UofT, which I completed in June 2016. After a year working at Sunnybrook Hospital on the obstetrical unit, I moved to Kitchener and started working at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in the Women's and Children's unit, witnessing the miracle of life every shift! Becoming a nurse has allowed me to understand the healthcare system better, provided me with a diverse range of skills that enables me to traverse many areas of healthcare, and has given me a newfound appreciation for the gift of health. While I am not currently practicing as an ND, I am excited for what the future holds!
