About Taryn Deane
Dr. Taryn Deane ND graduated from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine (BINM) in 2011, after completing her undergraduate degree in Science in Kinesiology at the University of New Brunswick in her hometown Fredericton, NB.
She immediately began teaching at her alma mater, after years of mentoring, marking and mediating between the faculty and the student body as a teaching assistant, treasurer of the BNSA and general purveyor of fun, positive thinking and appropriate use of swear words.
Shortly thereafter, she received notice of passing her boards and created a clinic with longtime friend and colleague, Dr. Matt Greenwood ND in South Surrey, BC. In the process, she teamed up with family-owned and operated CanPrev Natural Health Products and Orange Naturals to spread the word about their effective products on the West coast.
After 2 and a half years of sliding up and down the steep business/healthcare learning curve, she set out to walk the talk by ditching her commuter car in favour of comfortable walking shoes and a fuzzy assistant.
She gratefully leapt at the chance to join her mentor, Dr. Jason Marr ND, in his state-of-the-art clinic at Evoke Integrative Medicine in downtown Vancouver, BC. Here she treats patients alongside a list of extremely talented friends & colleagues: Dr. Marisa Marciano ND (otherwise known as The Naturopathic Herbalist), Dr. Tomah Phillips ND (master of IV therapy and mens health), Jennifer Trecartin Brott RHN (the beautiful mind behind My Edible Advice), Brenda St. Louis RMT (money maven with magic hands), Mariana Mousouliotis RMT (unbelievably talented balancer of the body) and Nicole Longstaff L.Ac (deliverer of chinese wisdom).
Her passion for business has opened many doors; the most impactful being those at the Institute for Holistic Medicine Vancouver campus where she spent 2 years teaching nutritionists about life as a multi-tasking, heart-centred entrepreneur.
She also taught Differential Diagnosis at BINM for another couple years, followed by a 2-year stint as Chair of Clinical Diagnosis, where she developed and ran a brand new program bridging health sciences with the art of diagnosing and treating patients.
Dr. Deane juggles many hats but she does it for one reason and one reason only: to increase access to natural medicine for those who need it the most and in turn, create a kinder world for everyone.
