About Nicole Bobala
I became a Naturopathic Doctor because of my passion for health and the power we have over our own healing.
I learned about this power first hand with my own health issues. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition when I was in my late teens as a result of the go-go-go, eat-what-you-want, and take-a-pill-to-fix-your-issues culture that I grew up in and which is still pervasive in our society. I know times are changing and being part of that movement is what gets me up every morning – but there is still a lot of work to do! Once I took charge of my health after I made the decision that I was not comfortable simply taking a drug to suppress my symptoms, I commenced my healing journey. Additionally, with the help of naturopathic medicine I have been able to decrease the stress and anxiety that is almost inevitable with our lifestyles.
I am now able to live life to a fuller and happier degree.
I sincerely believe that I can help you do this too and that is why I joined the naturopathic profession of which I am so proud.
In order to become a Naturopathic Doctor I had to complete 8 years of post-secondary education. I received my Bachelor of Science at the University of Guelph, which is when I fell in love with both biology and Wellington county. I then completed a rigorous four-year clinical program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM).
During my time at CCNM I thoroughly enjoyed my clinical year helping patients find passion for their health. I divided my time between the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic and a truly unique integrative clinic called Brampton Naturopathic Teaching Clinic (BNTC). The BNTC is Canada’s first naturopathic clinic located in a hospital – the Brampton Civic Hospital. I was lucky enough to be the first cohort to have spent the entire clinic year at the BNTC where integrative medicine is the goal.
Although Naturopathic Doctors are primary caregivers, I believe that the best healthcare strategy is an integrative model where a patient uses all medical professionals at their disposal without exclusion of one over the other. When healthcare workers work on your behalf as a team, your health will benefit the most.
I am excited to work with people to find ways to integrate naturopathic medicine into their lives. Sometimes small simple changes can make a world of a difference in health - both body and mind. My goal is to help people find their balance.
