About Nara Simmonds
I’ve worked for 20 years in the natural food and supplements business. While completing my science degree and working at the Root Cellar, I met many patients who were helped through my sister’s naturopathic practice and it inspired me to further my education and become an ND.
Prior to becoming an ND, I took on the role of manager at The Root Cellar and again in 2016 I returned to manage while also maintaining a part-time practice. It’s by no surprise then, that one of my favourite things to do while travelling is exploring other natural food stores. I’m passionate about understanding how our bodies work and respond to our ever-changing environment and how to translate that into helping people live their best lives. I love to nerd out about nutritional biochemistry, thanks to my high school chemistry teacher who made me love chemistry early on.
I do what I do because of my beautiful mother. I am grateful for my 2 boys and my partner who teach me every day how to be a better teacher. My other loves: Coffee, rebounding on my Bellicon, G&Ts, travelling, hiking, photography, and being with the people I love.
