About Michelle Pobega
She herself is no stranger to the bloating and the belly aches. She admits that digestion has always been her weakest link since university. While completing 4 years of undergrad at McMaster University, she stressed out emotionally and mentally, stayed up excessively late to study, and ate her feelings (typically an abundance of chocolates and coffee at that time). The effects of these behaviors snowballed and followed her into her time at The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. She developed food sensitivities (gluten is still her worst enemy) and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) with symptoms like bloating, abdominal pains, gas etc; she taxed her adrenal glands (stress glands) and often felt like she was on an emotional rollercoaster, all of which made the digestive issues worse. It left her feeling defeated, self conscious, out of control, exhausted, and miserable.
Thankfully, her time studying naturopathic medicine helped her recognize what was going on and begin to systematically address it. She was able to successfully manage her digestion and in turn was able to find her confidence and feel comfortable in her own skin again. The journey of healing herself inspired her focus on helping others optimize their digestion, take control back of their lives and thrive.
Dr. Michelle, ND believes that naturopathic medicine is the perfect marriage between science-based therapies from conventional medicine and traditional and alternative modalities. Together, these create a system of medicine that understands the function of the body as a whole, treats the root cause, stimulates the body's innate ability to heal, and allows Dr. Michelle, ND to support the individual needs of each client she has the privilege of working with. Her ultimate goal is to help clients feel empowered as they create positive, sustainable transformations.
