About Michelle Gaucher
My name is Dr. Michelle Gaucher and I am a licensed naturopathic doctor in Victoria, BC. I strive to help people feel their best so that they can perform their best. I am a health detective, investigating thoroughly to determine & treat the root cause of illness. I practice individualized medicine that tailors treatment specific for each patient, as I recognize that everyone is unique. My passion (and luckily it’s my job) is to provide patients with thorough, non-invasive and safer medical care that gives lasting results.
Similar to many other young university students, I worried about figuring out what I wanted to do with my life. I was (almost) always very interested and invested in the classes that I was taking, but initially I didn’t recognize any career that was quite right for me in the healthcare world. I was intrigued by the human mind & body and I knew that I wanted to focus on health and had a desire to help people feel their best. I realized how passionate I was about finding an evidence-based approach to medicine that would aim to treat the underlying problem of patients' health concerns and provide long-term results. I was always curious about the root causes of illness and disease and was passionate about individualized medicine that treated the whole person, not just the disease or symptoms. Once I discovered naturopathic medicine, it fit my health philosophy perfectly! When I experienced naturopathic medicine myself, I found relief from headaches and migraines that I had daily for 6 years that nothing else seemed to help. I continue to be headache-free years after I received treatment. This motivated me to help others in the same way.
