About Michael Reid
After completing his premedical studies at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, receiving a Bachelor of Kinesiology and Physical Education, Dr. Michael Reid graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto. Since that time, he and his wife, Dr. Som Thammasouk, formed HealthSource Integrative Medical Centre, which provides naturopathic medical and adjunctive integrative cancer care. Dr. Reid also spent time developing an integrative care model working alongside a medical doctor, Dr. Francesco Anello. They started working together in 2008 and it was unusual at that time to see NDs and MDs working together. Dr. Reid and Dr. Anello treated many patients together over a 10 year period and continue to collaborate to this day.
Dr. Reid is first and foremost a clinician. He works with many different conditions including difficult and complex cases. He has the clinical experience to know what works yet also knows his limitations and will make the appropriate recommendations accordingly.
Being recognized as a centre with a special interest in cancer care, HealthSource was selected to be part of the Canadian and U.S. Integrative Oncology Study (CUSIOS). Dr. Reid also pursued and brought to Waterloo Region Loco-Regional Hyperthermia as an adjunctive cancer treatment.
