About Melanie Kusznireckyj
Melanie Kusznireckyj (BSc, ND) trained as a naturopathic doctor in Toronto from an accredited college after completing her bachelors in Biology with focus on Botany, Plant Physiology, and Ecology at the University of Ottawa. She graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, where she also worked at the Queen West and HIV Sherbourne medical clinics. She currently runs a small private practice in Montreal, and has extended her care-giving to other communities here in Montreal such as SIDA Bénévole and to Street Suds, a community of homeless individuals transitioning to work. She is former VP of the Quebec Association of Naturopathic Medicine and is currently a member of the International Society for Complimentary Medicine Research (IN-CAM), the Réseau québécois d’Action pour la santé des femmes (RQASF), and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND).
Melanie divides her time between caring for others in her practice, and in managing the development of a natural health product company for health care professionals, where she quickly assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer through her initiatives in collaboration, education, and mentorship.
Melanie Kusznireckyj is a Ukrainian folk dancer, and is professionally trained as a contemporary dancer. She studied modern dance at the School of Dance in Ottawa and worked as an interpreter and choreographer for the company Tilt Sound and Motion in Toronto. Inspired by culture and folklore, Melanie is a fusion artist that is interested in cross-disciplinary art forms. Recently, she collaborated with musicians and visual artists with the Yellowknife Dance Collective.
Melanie enjoys dancing Argentine tango, the cello, and knitting.
