About Meghan Dougan
Growing up on Vancouver Island, I developed a certain admiration of our surrounding environment and I carry this same level of respect for the human body.
As a previous synchronized swimmer turned activity enthusiast, I recognize that our bodies do a lot for us. It's my goal to encourage others to cultivate this appreciation and preserve their health so they can continue doing the things they love.
Sustainable medicine is something I am passionate about, and the discovery of Naturopathic Medicine was one of those "ah-hah" moments. Having been through my own health journey, it wasn't until I came across a doctor that was willing to think outside the box that my health started to improve.
My dedication to both physical and mental wellbeing evolved from watching so many people around me struggle with stress, lack of sleep, anxiety and depression. Just because mental health concerns are so common, this does not mean we have to live with them. And the more we talk about mental health the closer we can get to finding solutions.
I nourish my mental health through mindfulness and introspection, good food, physical activity, and spending time with my people. You can often find me on my yoga mat, bike, or snowboard, or in the kitchen trying a new recipe with Norah Jones. I also love to travel and explore new places. But mostly I love hugs from my niece and nephew.
