About Meghan Bauer
Although Meghan always knew she would pursue health care in some regard, she was ultimately attracted to naturopathic medicine by the philosophical principles that underlie it, primarily to treat the whole individual and to address and treat the underlying cause of disease.
Before entering the field of naturopathic medicine, Meghan received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and the social studies of medicine from McGill University and worked for two years conducting research in the field of sensory perception and alternative pain management. Meghan graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2006 and is licensed as a Naturopathic Doctor in the Province of Ontario. With a background in science and a love for the qualities that make us unique and individual, Meghan is well suited to both the art and science of naturopathic medicine.
Meghan has a general family practice with a special interest in stress based conditions, hormonal health, mental and emotional wellness and in particular healthy sleep. Meghan is an evidence-based practitioner with a focus on how our mind and body connect in health and wellness.
Meghan has been teaching with the Continuing Studies Department at the University of Toronto since 2008 and is currently offering 3 courses that she has developed; "Your Health: Naturopathic Medicine", "A Naturopathic Approach to Women's Health" and "Sleep Well: A Naturopathic Approach to Better Sleep."
"I love naturopathic medicine and all that it has to offer. It allows me the time and space to understand your health concerns and you as an individual in health and wellness. It is amazing to see how our health is shaped by our individual situation including; stressors, lifestyle, diet and sleep ... and it is equally amazing to see how things can shift when given the opportunity. I love my job!"
