About Megan Bernard
Dr. Megan Bernard, ND completed a Masters in Pathology at Dalhousie University, where her thesis applied the natural extract, gingerol, to breast cancer cells and T cells (immune system cells). She was the recipient of several awards for her research at Dalhousie University and at local conferences, and was a presenter at the European Congress of Immunology in Glasgow, Scotland. Her thesis research has since been published in two scientific journals. Prior to her Masters, she graduated with a Bachelor of Health Science degree in Diagnostic Cytology, the microscopic detection and diagnosis of cancer, at Dalhousie. Most recently, she has obtained a Doctorate in Naturopathy from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, during which time she was one of a select few on the Adjunctive Cancer Care clinical shift, where only individuals with cancer were patients.
Dr. Bernard believes in empowering and educating her patients to make sound and informed choices. She is caring and empathetic, and ready to work with her patients through difficult decisions. A strong advocate for integrative care, Dr. Bernard encourages the concurrent use of Western and naturopathic styles of medicine.
Dr. Megan Bernard is a licensed health care professional and a professional member in good standing with the Nova Scotia Association of Naturopathic Doctors, the Prince Edward Island Association of Naturopathic Doctors, the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors, and the College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta.
