About Marieta Buse
Dr. Buse's passion is sports medicine, with her background in naturopathic medicine. Her unique approach allows her to integrate modern medicine with the foundations of health and performance. She sees each case with a panoramic perspective of the whole body, but also has the ability to hone into the details of each system of the body. In this way, she addresses performance, injuries, and health concerns with an evidence-based treatment plan that is specific to each patient.
Dr. Buse is a graduate of naturopathic medicine at the Boucher Institute in British Columbia, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Western Ontario. She is a co-author of the 2018 & 2020 ProHealthSys textbook on Orthopedic Assessment. Dr. Marieta was also a speaker at the 2019 Canadian Climbing Medicine Symposium on wrist instability in advanced rock climbers. She often puts on talks and workshops at the Hive Climbing Gym and on their social media page on various aspects of enhancing sport performance.
Living and working in North Vancouver, BC, Dr. Buse strives to make the outdoors more accessible to all-level athletes and outdoor enthusiasts. As a rock climber for 7 years, she loves using sports medicine as a means to reach her own performance goals. Her dream is to see naturopathic doctors – and more female physicians – on the Olympic medical team.
