About Kyla Buten
Dr. Kyla Buten is a licensed Naturopathic Physician with a special interest in women’s health, fertility and skin care. Dr. Buten utilizes advanced hormone tests to best understand each individual patients picture and needs from PMS to Menopause.
She also focuses her practice on prenatal care, children’s health, digestive disorders, mental/emotional health and stress management, menopause, thyroid disorders, as well as a wide-variety of other conditions.
Dr. Buten was born and raised in Toronto and obtained her Bachelor degree in Biology and Psychology (Hons.) from Queen’s University. She then went on to graduate from the Boucher Institute with her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine in Vancouver, BC. The concept of balance has always been her ambition, and Dr. Buten has consistently made it a priority to pursue her passions, both in and out of the workplace. She is an avid athlete and runner and loves spending time hiking, trail running, and walking along the ocean with her husband, daughter and their cuddly golden retriever, Nala.
Dr. Buten is passionate about helping patients reach their ideal state of health by recognizing the underlying patterns that may be causing disease, and using natural treatments to enhance the body’s ability to heal. She continues to stay active in the academic community and is currently involved in ongoing studies of naturopathic medicine. Dr. Buten also has her pharmaceutical prescribing license and further training in BHRT (Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy), women’s health, digestion and skin care concerns.
Dr. Buten advocates that the healing process should be an enjoyable one, and provides a light-hearted, calming and supportive energy to any environment. With a warm and compassionate disposition and a penchant for evidence-based medicine, she is dedicated to sharing her knowledge and skills in order to contribute positively to the lives and health care of others.
