About Kerri Fullerton
Hi Im Kerri, and I have a special interest in fertility. By using naturopathic medicine I help hopeful parents get pregnant, stay pregnant, and raise healthy families.
But what Im really about is helping women feel supported and nurtured throughout the fertility journey.
About 10 years ago my husband and I decided that we wanted to start our family. Much to my surprise getting pregnant didnt happen as easily as I was lead to believe. I started to educate myself more about hormones and cycles and fertility though continuing education.
Once I had my son, the focus of my practice shifted to helping others through this frustrating experience.
Last year, my business partner Whitney Young and I developed a fertility program to offer these hopeful parents.
After five years and working with hundreds of women along their wellness journey, now I am a fertility guru.
Im a bit like a conductor of a symphony. For the sound to come out right, each group of musicians has to be playing their part at the right time. Each musician must be playing in harmony and in time. The conductor listens to all of the sounds and guides them to play together. Just like hormones dont operate independently, they all need to be playing there part at just the right time.
Couples come in to see me feeling exasperated. They grew up thinking that if they looked at each other wrong that pregnancy was inevitable. When they decide to go for it and pull the goalie, they cant understand why things are working out as planned. For the initial assessment we go through a thorough history from both hopeful parents. This history is so much more than how long was your last cycle. This history is about each person fully: their stress, sleep, diet, moods and more. By fully understanding where they are, we can make those subtle changes needed to optimize health. Then we go through any testing that needs to be done or has been done already. A week later we go through a review of findings and present the couple with their treatment plan. Once a month, we meet again to tweak the plan and provide the next step in our program.
As a Naturopathic Doctor I have a wonderful tool chest. I have things like acupuncture, herbs, vitamins and IV nutrients. I also have resources to put in front of these couples like other professionals, trainers, counsellors and so on. Most importantly is that these couples get my attention and empathy. They are given the space to talk about the hard stuff. We share laughs and we share tears.
The best part is that I get to be part of the journey from trying to conceive all the way to the end.
