About Kathleen Westlake
Kathleen pursued a Masters of Science degree after completing an Honours Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Toronto. It was at that time she discovered Naturopathic medicine.
After her MSc degree, Kathleen worked for four years with a University professor on several projects related to complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). One project involved the development of a free evidence-based website on CAM for health care professionals and the public (www.camline.ca). Another project involved running focus groups with men recently diagnosed with prostate cancer to better understand how they make decisions around using CAM.
It was such a privilege to hear these men's stories and be a witness to their courage. I wanted to reach out to them but that wasn't my role as a researcher. It was then that I decided to to become a Naturopathic doctor. I realized that I could best serve people by pursuing my calling as a ND.
Kathleen completed her naturopathic degree at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and has been part of the Norfolk Chiropractic Wellness Centre team since the fall of 2010. She practices family medicine, treating people of all ages and stages of health. Kathleen's areas of special interest include stress management, mental health, weight management, metabolic and hormonal health. She makes use of all the naturopathic therapies, with a particular focus on clinical nutrition, lifestyle counseling and homeopathic medicine.
