About Jennifer Luck
Jennifer Luck is the founder and owner of the Somerset Health and Wellness Centre. After earning a bachelor of science degree from McGill University, Dr. Luck worked as a research scientist at the St. Justine Children\'s Hospital in Montreal, then pursued a research opportunity in Brazil. During her internship, Dr. Luck was introduced to the field of natural medicine and quickly realized where her passion lay. She is a graduate of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, the only college in Canada offering the 4-year program required to become a licensed N.D.
During her medical training, she gained advanced clinical experience working at the Sherbourne centre for individuals with HIV and AIDS. In 2005 she became trained as a doula through DONA (Doulas of North America) and volunteered as a birth coach with Jessie`s Centre for pregnant teens.
Dr. Jennifer Luck has a special interest in perinatal care and family medicine. She has pursued extra training in childhood vaccines and offers informative consultations to parents who are looking for scientific information about vaccines. Dr. Luck works closely with couples who are struggling with fertility and is a member of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society.
In 2010, Dr. Jennifer Luck gave birth to her daughter and became the first woman to deliver a breech baby naturally on hands and knees at the Ottawa General Hospital. She is pleased to offer private consultations and guidance to women who are interested in pursuing a vaginal breech birth. In 2013, she delivered her second child peacefully at home.
Jennifer favors simple and gentle treatments to restore health and works with each patient to develop a unique and personalized plan. Jennifer is a member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND), the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND), The Canadian Society of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture (CSCMA), The Pediatric Association of Naturopathic Physicians and the Association of Perinatal Naturopathic Doctors (APND).
