About Ingrid Pincott
Dr. Ingrid Pincott returned to her roots in the North Island in 1996.
Dr. Pincott graduated from North Island Secondary School in Port McNeill in 1975, completed her nursing program at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria in 1979, and obtained her pre-med at the University of Victoria before attending the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon. She graduated with her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine (N.D) in 1985 and practiced fulltime for 11 years in Vancouver. She returned to the North Island in December of 1996 and has been practicing since then. She moved downtown Campbell River in June of 2006 to the Chateau Building and enjoys her beautiful office space.
When asked the reason for her return she said: "I wanted to establish a more naturopathic lifestyle for myself to have more time in Mother Nature for gardening, biking, skiing, hiking and photography. Campbell River is a beautiful spot, a combination of mountains and sea that I loved when I was growing up." Her inspirational photographs decorate her office.
Naturopathic medicine was established in 1900 and is a system of medicine that incorporates many modalities of treatment such as homeopathy, herbal and nutritional medicine, lifestyle counseling, and detoxification programs. It has been recognized by law in B.C. since 1935 and many extended health plans help to cover naturopathic services..
