About Heather Prescott
As a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, I support people on their journey towards health and wellbeing. Naturopathic medicine integrates scientific, evidence based medicine with the wisdom of ancient healing traditions, providing patients with natural, safe and effective treatment.
After nine years of school, I took the Naturopathic Oath to dedicate myself to the service of humanity as a practitioner of the art and science of Naturopathic Medicine.
My curious scientific mind combined with my fascination of the mind/body connection led me to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Psychology at the University of Victoria. After another intensive four years of naturopathic medical school, I graduated from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in Vancouver. I was honored with the Dr. Prytula Memorial Award and the Institute for Natural Health Scholars Award.
I currently live my dream as a Naturopathic Doctor in my home based clinic in Duncan, BC. I am licensed with high standards of practice by the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia.
As a family naturopathic doctor, I work with people of all ages and health concerns. Together we address the underlying cause of illness and develop an individualized program to support healing of the whole person.
The word doctor is derived from the Latin word docere meaning teacher. I work to support, educate and empower you with the tools to achieve your health goals. My goal is to support wellbeing of mind, body and spirit by removing the obstacles that prevent health and providing education about healthy living and preventive medicine.
Passionate about building a community of wellness, I give talks and workshops. I have organized meditation groups and garden committees, as well as volunteered for palliative care, peer support and environmental conservation groups.
I believe it is important to find a doctor that you are comfortable with, who can address your individual health needs.
In Wellness,
Dr. Heather
