About Harmonie Eleveld
Since opening Natural Choice Medical Clinic in Guelph in 2013, I have had the privilege of working with some amazing patients. Over the years I have learned from my patients and discovered my true calling in naturopathic medicine which is women’s health. Through my experiences I have witnessed many women in perimenopause or menopause who were unaware that they did not have to live with symptoms that can come on at mid-life, such as hot flashes, insomnia, heavy periods, fibroids, vaginal dryness, joint pain, mood swings, fluid retention, anxiety, hair loss and fatigue.
I came to understand that many women do not know that many symptoms they experience – which can start around age 40 – are related to the hormonal changes that are happening in their bodies. This is why I decided to focus my practice on women and hormonal imbalance. I help my patients to live vibrantly through and after menopause because a high quality of life, for your whole life, is of great importance to me.
I am a registered member with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario and have been qualified by the College for the additional standards of practice of therapeutic prescribing and intravenous infusion therapy. I am also a participating member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND).
Prior to my four year naturopathic training at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, I graduated with distinction from Queen’s University with an Honours Bachelor of Computing, with a subject of specialization in biomedical computing. I then went on to work as a research assistant at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in the neuroradiology department. Cutting edge medical research is always an essential component of my practice, and I am always seeking to expand my knowledge through continuing education. I frequently attend courses and conferences on hormonal health delivered by the OAND, CAND, Professional Compounding Centers of America, Evidence Based Nutrition, Association for the Advancement of Restorative Medicine, Collaborative Education, and the LP3 Network.
