About Frederique LAFONT
It all started when I had to reorient myself when I was at the Lycée in France after the Second General.
Initially, I did not want to experience this reorientation. I had in my plans to continue in the literary section in order to do a BTS Tourism. I was already at the time a real travel enthusiast (and still today!). That was what I wanted to do. I was vibrating and dreaming about it.
Unfortunately, not passing this class, I had to make a choice. My parents and my best friend at the time influenced me to go in another direction: the field of health.
So I did a two-year Health and Social Career BEP. I discovered a lot of things and I also wondered what I was doing there. I, who hated mathematics and biology, learned to like it. Go figure!
I can't remember exactly how I got interested in massages. Lessons? A book? No idea. But, it was during these studies that I started to get interested in it. I took lessons at a center near my home.
I really liked it, so I started massaging my friends and family. I had even inquired to go further on this subject. During a conversation with one of my cousins, she told me that she knows someone who is a student in a massage therapy school in Montreal. My eyes light up and my mind awakens. That's what I want to do!
I tell my parents about it. Except that for them, it's just an idea in the air and they don't want to help me finance it. Especially since it is they who finance my studies of course! And that they have the right to direct me as they see fit. I was once again disappointed and frustrated.
But, this idea will remain in a corner of my head by making itself very small. I continue my studies until the Bac that I manage to obtain. The famous question after baccalaureate arrives and I bring out everything I want to do on the table: BTS Tourism, School of massage therapy in Quebec… No, it still does not pass with the parents.
