About Erika Ristok
Erika Ristok is a registered Social worker who works with adults seeking to better cope with life’s challenges. She views therapy as an opportunity to uncover and explore self-limiting beliefs in a safe, supportive and collaborative environment. She enjoys helping her clients expand their “mental health toolkits” in support of their personal growth and well-being. To facilitate this, Erika helps clients develop greater self-knowledge and coping strategies, and encourages clients’ connection to their own values, resources, and strengths.
In addition to her knowledge and experience with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Erika uses applied mindfulness strategies, including mindful self-compassion and meditation. She also draws on strengths-based practices including solution-focused and narrative therapies.
Erika earned a Master of Social Work degree at Wilfrid Laurier University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at McMaster University. Her recent professional experience includes clinical placements with Halton Healthcare’s Adult Outpatient Psychotherapy Service and the Halton Hills Family Health Team. In addition to being a Naturopathic Doctor and a clinical supervisor at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, Erika is a registered Social worker and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
