About Dugald Seely
Dr. Dugald Seely, ND has been actively pursuing the growth and development of integrative medicine and relevant research over the past two decades. Having pioneered an innovative model of cancer care through the creation of the Ottawa Integrative Cancer Centre, recently Dr. Seely has focused his efforts on expanding integrative medicine more broadly through the Centre for Health Innovation. Dr. Seely and his team are providing whole-person integrative care to people living with chronic disease in a manner that is reflective of the best evidence available, clinical experience and that honours patient choice.
Dr. Seely completed his BSc in Chemistry at Acadia University and his Masters in cancer research at the University of Toronto. A 2003 graduate of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, Dr. Seely is a Fellow of the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology (FABNO). As a clinician scientist, Dr. Seely has been awarded over 11 million dollars in competitive grant and trainee funding through CIHR, the Lotte and John Hecht Memorial Foundation, CBCRA, the SickKids Foundation, and the Gateway for Cancer Research.
Dr. Seely serves as executive director of integrative oncology research at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine; adjunct professor with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa; affiliate investigator with the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) and is the current president for the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians (OncANP). In 2017 Dr. Seely was the recipient of the Dr. Rogers Prize for excellence in Complementary and Alternative Medicine.
