health experiences. In 2002, suffering from severe and debilitating seasonal allergies for some years, he began searching for a solution. After a few years of visiting various health care practitioners without success, frustration grew. It was not until he came across naturopathic medicine that a solution was found. The naturopathic doctor not only treated him but empowered him through education, revealing how his actions were cultivating a terrain in the body for illness.
At the time, along with his health problems, his work experiences challenged him to rethink his philosophy regarding health and healing. Working five years as a chemist for a pharmaceutical company allowed him a unique insight into the business of health. Realizing that his personal philosophy was evolving, he understood the need to change to a profession that would honour those new beliefs.
Dr. Cook obtained a Bachelor of Science degree (double major in biology and chemistry) from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1998. In 2007, he graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. The following year, he furthered his skills by specializing in Auricular Medicine (ear acupuncture) under the tutelage and mentorship of Dr. Mikhael Adams and Dr. Allison Adams.
Dr. Cook also taught anatomy, physiology, immunology and nutrition at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Calgary for a number of years. He is also a current member in good standing with the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and of the Alberta Association of Naturopathic Practitioners (AANP).
