    About Daria Love

Dr. Daria Love has been a naturopathic doctor since 1981, and is now retired as a chiropractor. The office is in downtown Toronto. Her approach to health care utilizes a variety of naturopathic therapies to create comprehensive programs that focus on individual health needs.

Dr. Love has worked extensively with those suffering from such ailments as chronic fatigue, recurrent infections, allergies, food sensitivities, digestive problems including gastritis, IBS and IBD, diabetes and insulin resistance, inflammatory illnesses including arthritis, autoimmune disorders and cardiovascular disease as well as cancer support treatment.

She takes particular interest in chronic and complex health issues, and those undertaking multiple therapeutic approaches that have not provided answers or resolution of complaints. Dr Love provides insight and understanding of current medical and other therapies and their integration with naturopathic health approaches. She also draws upon her earlier 29 years as a chiropractor to provide assessment of the musculoskeletal and neurological interactions in these complex and multifaceted health problems and works to develop a framework of care incorporating a variety of health strategies.

Naturopathic medicine focuses on the identification and treatment of the causes of illness while attending to the relief and management of acute and ongoing symptoms. Dr. Love's general practice takes a patient centered approach that builds upon the fundamentals of diet, exercise and stress reduction using botanical, homeopathic and nutritional medicines for health restoration, wellness and disease prevention. Her wholistic philosophy emphasizes the concepts of body, mind and spirit to empower each patient with information and therapies to facilitate her/his personal journey towards health and well being.

Dr. Love is proud to have been involved in the renaissance of the Naturopathic profession in Ontario. She was a graduate of the first class of naturopathic doctors at the Ontario, now Canadian, College of Naturopathic Medicine. Following her graduation as a chiropractor from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1977, she studied as a specialist in radiology and was on faculty with both the Chiropractic and Naturopathic Colleges until 1981 and 1985 respectively. She has maintained her current private practice in Toronto since 1981.

As a respected Elder in her profession, Dr. Love firmly believes in service and mentorship. Over the years she has been involved in a number of political and educational issues affecting the naturopathic profession, including accreditation and regulation. She was a member of the Board of Governors of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) for 11 years, holding the positions of Vice-Chair and Chair of Academic Affairs. She is currently Chair of the Program Advisory Committee for CCNM, Co-Chair of Naturopathic Doctors for Environmental and Social Trust (NEST) and a member of the Medical Advisory Group for the Pulse (quarterly professional journal of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors).

She is a member in good standing with the regulatory College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO), and retired status with the College of Chiropractors of Ontario (CCO), and maintains membership with the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND).
