About Benjamin Snider
Dr. Snider believes we need a transformation in the practice of medicine in order to better address the healthcare needs of today.
Dr. Benjamin Snider is a board certified, licensed Naturopathic Doctor with the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy Naturopathy (BDDT-N). He is a member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND), the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND), and the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians (OncANP).
Dr. Snider completed his four-year naturopathic medical education at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto, one of two fully CNME (http://www.cnme.org/) accredited Naturopathic college in Canada. Other education includes a Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo.
He runs an eclectic family practice that utilizes IV vitamin therapy, diet therapy, food sensitivity testing, lifestyle counseling, applied kinesiology, vitamins and minerals, detoxification, bioregulatory medicine, meditation, and different forms of body work to help bring the body back into balance. He sees a wide range of health concerns but specializes in chronic pain, chronic infections, skin conditions, allergies, cancer, anxiety/depression, digestive imbalances, hormone health, and chronic fatigue.
He addresses the underlying causes of disease, using a systems-oriented approach by engaging the patient in a therapeutic partnership. By shifting the traditional disease-centered focus of medical practice to a more patient-centered approach, Dr. Ben addresses the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms.
Dr. Ben spends time with his patients, listening to their histories and looking at the interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and chronic disease. In this way, he supports the unique expression of health and vitality for each individual.
The mission of the therapeutic relationship is to create self reliant practices with each patient so they can stand fully empowered in their own healing potential. From this the patient can see the purpose behind the health concern and escape the confinement of feeling victim to their illness and understand that they have the power to create the changes they desire.
