Barbara Cowan ND is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor serving the areas of Muskoka and Simcoe. In 2005, Barbara began her practice and opened the Gravenhurst Naturopathic Healing Centre in Gravenhurst, Ontario. Hers is a General Practice, with emphasis on female endocrine (hormone) balancing, mental health/mood disorders (ADHD, depression, anxiety, stress etc), digestion imbalances, LGBTQ-centred care, food sensitivities and pediatrics.
Barbara has completed further studies in homeopathy, environmental medicine, hot stone massage, facial rejuvenation acupuncture, mindfulness and self-compassion. She has also been an instructor and clinic supervisor of naturopathic students and 4th year clinical interns at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, ON.
Naturopathic Medicine is a system of healthcare that takes a natural and holistic approach to assessment, diagnosis, and treatment based on a person's individuality and unique presentation of symptoms. Naturopathic Medicine seeks to optimize vitality by emphasizing disease prevention and health restoration.
