About Anne Hussain
My first period came as a complete and utter shock to me - I thought something was really wrong! I had learnt nothing about it in school and the sociocultural taboos around it meant that my friends and family didn't speak about it.
As I entered my late teens, my cycles became very irregular, my energy and mood tanked, I was constantly bloated, and I just didn't feel like myself. The only solution I was offered was the birth control pill without a proper investigation or discussion about the potential effects and side-effects of the pill; turned out I got pretty much all the side-effects on the pill. Needless to say, I came off it, started researching, sought out help, and advocated for a comprehensive assessment. It turned out I had PCOS and Hashimoto's thyroiditis on top of my genetic anaemia called thalassaemia.
Having been through all of this and having supported hundreds of women through hormonal challenges, discouragement, infertility, and overwhelm, I know that hope and good health can seem elusive.
It takes work and it takes a plan that is tailored to you.
My plan led me to regular 32-day cycles, better energy and mood, clearer skin, less bloat, and better flow in my life. My whole life was transformed using a plant-based lifestyle (which is what I personally wanted), strategic supplementation, acupuncture, and more. I had to unlearn and learn lots of things.
I can't imagine doing the work I do today or have the capacity to dream big feeling the way I did in my late teens and early twenties.
I believe that when you take care of your health, you can show up for yourself, your dreams and goals, and the people who matter most.
If you're ready to to take the next steps, I'd be honoured to support you.
