About Amber Merrick
Dr. Amber Merrick is a licensed and registered Naturopathic Doctor, practicing at DOCERE: Institute of Wellness in St. Catharines, Ontario.
Throughout her life, Amber has struggled with weight, skin, hormonal issues, and an undiagnosed thyroid condition. Coming from a large Italian family with a predisposition for Type 2 Diabetes, she has a love of food and culture, but understands the struggle of trying to achieve a healthy balance of family, food and activity. Amber chose Naturopathic Medicine because it helped her identify and treat her health issues when she thought there were no answers. She knew she was meant to be a Naturopathic Doctor.
She began her learning career at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario where she graduated with honors and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Neurobiology. Her passion for health brought her to the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto. Here, she underwent an intensive four-year program that included more than 1,200 hours of clinical experience and more than 3,000 hours of classroom training.
While at CCNM, Amber received the Governor’s Award of Excellence, awarded to the graduating student who demonstrated outstanding academic performance in the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program.
Currently, Amber is a member of the Ontario and Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors and is accepting new patients at DOCERE: Institute of Wellness at 235 Martindale Road in St. Catharines. She has a special interest in weight loss, hormone balancing, digestion, mental health and IV nutrient therapy for a wide variety of conditions.
