About Alison Cockerill

Dr. Alison Cockerill, ND graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts with High Distinction in Religious Studies from the University of Toronto. Her experience with the ways in which religion relates to health, piqued her interest a holistic, natural approach to medicine. Alison went on to complete the 4-year post-graduate Doctor of Naturopathy at the accredited, Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM). During this time, she completed 1,200 hours of supervised clinical experience at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic. She also provided supervised clinical care to underserviced populations at the Queen West Community Health Centre, Toronto.

Alison believes that healing is a journey that we all experience in our own unique way. It is, therefore, important to her, that each patient is treated in a holistic and personalized manner. The naturopathic approach combines evidence-based treatments with individualized care and the consideration that every aspect of our lives (mental, emotional, physical and spiritual) impacts our overall health and wellness.

Alison works with a wide variety of health concerns including but not limited to: hormone imbalances, infertility, digestive complaints, skin conditions, mental health concerns and weight management. She has also met the Standard of Practice for Prescribing in Ontario which allows her to prescribe bioidentical hormone therapy, desiccated thyroid hormone and perform B12 injections. Alison holds a certificate in Functional and Personalized Hormone Restoration Therapy through the LP3 network. She acknowledges the individuality of hormonal imbalances and has a thorough understanding of personalized, bioidentical hormone restoration therapies. She is a member of both the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors.

During her time at CCNM, Alison also became a mother. This gave rise to her passion for using her skills as a naturopathic doctor to address infertility, support preconception health and treat children of all ages. Alison believes in building a truly integrative healthcare system and she would be honoured to be part of your healthcare team!
