About Alexandria Brinkhurst-Bauer
My name is Alexandria Brinkhurst-Bauer, and I am a licensced naturopathic doctor practicing in Vancouver, BC.
Growing up in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, I spent a lot of time hiking, camping, snowboarding, and have always loved being in nature. After high school, I pursued snowboarding competitively, which eventually brought me to Whistler, BC. One summer in Whistler turned into seven years, and I’ve been in BC ever since. After a series of injuries, I decided to turn my focus to something more knee-friendly. With a lifelong interest in health and wellness, my decision to go back to school was easy.
Wanting to stay in BC, I attended the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, completing a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology. During that time, I was one of four students selected to represent UBC at the Universitas 21 conference, “Cities and Citizens in the Digital Age”, in Glasgow, Scotland. Collaborating with a diverse group of academics from around the world was the highlight of my undergraduate years. After graduating from UBC, I was accepted into a four-year doctoral program at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in New Westminster. After 4800 hours of academics, 1200 hours of clinical training, 100 professional development hours and 125 hours spent precepting with other doctors, I graduated as a doctor of naturopathic medicine.
I now run a private practice in downtown Vancouver. My approach to medicine is holistic and personalized, with an emphasis on the foundations of health. I recognize that every patient who walks through my door has a unique health history, and it’s my job to address individual concerns and bring about healing. I hope to work together to set goals and work towards better health, and I’m looking forward to welcoming you to my cozy downtown office.
