Kurt Stauffert, ND started his working life as a Geological Engineer following graduation from Queen’s University in 1982. He practiced as an Environmental Consultant for over 15 years in the areas of ground water exploration, and toxic and nuclear waste disposal both in Canada, the US and overseas.
Due to his own health exposure to toxins and a hectic lifestyle, he experienced a significant decline in his health which rekindled an interest in preventative healthcare, originally inspired by his late father, Dr. Hans Stauffert, a holistic dentist who converted their family to vegetarianism before Kurt was born to overcome his own life threatening illness.
After an enlightening visit to a Naturopathic Doctor in 1987, Kurt became fascinated with this emerging profession and decided on a mid-life career change. Kurt graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2000 and then interned with several naturopathic doctors in Ontario and BC. In 2004, he moved to Barrie and founded an environmentally friendly full scope integrative health practice called “The EcoClinic for Integrative Health Care.”
