About

Dr. Parmar is a leader in the field of naturopathic and integrative oncology, having seen many thousands of patients living with cancer over the past 15 years. He and his wife, Dr. Karen Parmar, ND launched the Integrated Health ClinicTM in 2000, and have since facilitated its growth to become the largest integrated health care facility in Canada.

Dr. Parmar works closely with many oncologists both locally and abroad, with patient referrals coming from all across Canada and internationally. Dr. Parmar was a consulting naturopathic physician at the Lions Gate Hospital cancer clinic from 2008 to 2012. Having established collaborative relationships with many health care providers, he ensures his patients are provided a truly integrative and evidence-guided treatment. The Integrated Health ClinicTM Cancer Care Centre model is that of an evidence-guided, shared decision-making, educational treatment style. This also applies to his working relationships with his patient’s medical oncologists, family physicians and other providers, sharing consultation notes from the first visit onwards – ensuring there is clear transparency in the treatments being used by his patients with the rest of the team.

Dr. Parmar was the first Canadian Naturopathic Physician to qualify with a fellowship from the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology in 2007. He has just been nominated President of the International Clinical Hyperthermia Society (ICHS), and will be hosting the 34th Annual ICHS conference in Vancouver in 2016. He served on the board of the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians from 2009 to 2015. Dr. Parmar was one of only 8 naturopathic physicians Read More
